2025-10-24 Old Flowers Night Ride

This video documents a night run on Old Flowers Road on October 24, 2025, traveling west to east. The group met at JJ’s shortly before 6:00 p.m., rolled out around 6:10 p.m., and wrapped up the night close to 11:00 p.m. The drive from JJ’s to the west trailhead typically takes about 1 hour 40 minutes. After crossing Stove Prairie, it takes Lee and me roughly 40 minutes to get home via Rist Canyon Road; other return times will vary.

Air temperature dropped to about 28 °F at the coldest point, otherwise holding in the 30s. We kept the windows down and used our heated seats. A thin crescent moon was visible early, then the sky went fully dark with bright stars. We paused at the west end to adjust shocks and set up the camera, and nobody aired down for this ride.

The group included four Jeep Wranglers. Lee and I led in our JL, followed by Nick, Lonnie, and Hunter in a TJ. Cave ran third in his YJ, and Michelle closed the convoy in her JL. We spread out to minimize headlight glare and dust, stayed on radios, and regrouped twice at White Rock Camp Spur and the Lewis Ranch cabin to stargaze and talk.
